This website

There is no advertising here, nothing is sold to anyone, and no profile is built about you. The site is a set of static pages; there is no account, no login and no form that submits anything.

This site sets no cookies at all, and stores nothing on your device. That is why you were not asked to accept anything — there is nothing to consent to.

Counting page views

CodeBakery counts page views, to know which pages are worth keeping and which are not read at all. It is done with Aptabase (opens in a new tab), an open-source analytics tool, running on CodeBakery's own server at aptabase.nm-hosts.de. No third-party analytics company is involved, and the measurements are not shared with anyone.

When you open a page, this is what is sent about you and the page:

• the path of the page, such as /products;
• if you arrived from another website, that site's name — example.com, not the full address of the page you came from;
• the time, and your browser's language setting;
• a random number identifying this visit, which is kept only in your browser's memory and is gone when you close or reload the page.

There is nothing in that list which identifies you, and nothing that survives the visit, so there is no way to recognise you on a later one. No cookie is set, nothing is written to your device, and nothing is read from it beyond the language setting your browser already announces to every website it requests a page from.

Sending anything over the internet reveals your IP address to the machine receiving it, and that is as true of this request as of the one that fetched this page. Here that machine belongs to CodeBakery rather than to a third party. The measurements are only ever read as totals — how many views a page had — never one visit at a time, and no attempt is made to work out who anyone is.

The server is one CodeBakery rents from netcup and administers itself; no analytics company is involved at any point. Page views are kept for 365 days and then deleted automatically by the database.

The legal basis is the legitimate interest of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in understanding whether this site is useful. Because nothing is stored on or read from your device in the sense of § 25 TDDDG, no consent is required for it — which is the reason this site can count page views without putting a banner in your way. You may object to this processing under Art. 21 GDPR by writing to the address below, or simply block the requests as described next.

If you would rather not be counted at all, any content blocker that blocks requests to aptabase.nm-hosts.de stops it completely, and nothing on this site behaves differently when it is blocked.

Hosting

The site is served as static files by Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps, hosted in the West Europe region (Netherlands). Like any web host, it processes technical connection data — your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user agent — in order to deliver the page and to protect against abuse. This is the legitimate-interest basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Microsoft acts as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR on the terms of the Microsoft Products and Services Data Protection Addendum. CodeBakery does not receive, read or store those logs.

Fonts

Typefaces are served from this site's own domain, not from a third-party font service, so no request leaves for another provider when a page loads.

If you write to us

When you email hello ⟨at⟩ codebakery ⟨dot⟩ net, your message and address are processed to answer you, and kept only as long as needed for that — Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and may object to processing. Write to the address above. You may also complain to a supervisory authority in your country of residence.
